Start this project by using your Proxxon Band Saw and cutting one 8" x 8" base out of the 1/2" Birch plywood, then cut 2 pieces of the 1/4" Birch plywood into , 8" x 5" pieces for two sides of the holder, and 2 pieces of the 1/4" Birch plywood , 8 5/16" x 5" for the other two sides. Using the 1/4" Birch plywood cut out two more pieces that are 8" x 4". Those will be used to divide the inside of the holder. Cut out a 1/4" slot into the middle of the dividers so that they will fit into each other on the inside of the holder.
Use the Proxxon Table Saw to cut the paint stirrers to 10 1/2" long from the top.
I also used the Proxxon Table Saw to cut four pieces of the trim into 5" lengths.
I painted all of the pieces before nailing them together. I drilled holes in the paint stir sticks with the Forstner drill bit that is the size of the Dowel rod that you I used. Can you see from the picture how the two pieces that divide up the holder fit together?
Here's a better look at how they fit into the holder that you've created. By painting all of the pieces prior to nailing them together, all you have to do is touch the paint up when you finish.
All I had to do once everything was put together was touch up the paint, put the mason jars into the holder and add the plastic silverware and the paper napkins! I think this holder will come in very handy when we have guests over for a get together in the Summertime!
If you haven't done so yet, you need to go to www.proxxon.com and check out all of the wonderful tools that they have for the Artist and Crafter. Take the time while you're at it to check out www.plaidonline.com to see all of the wonderful products that Plaid has to offer. They have come out with many new products this year that I think you will love.
Please leave a comment as I do read everyone of them.
