How to make a spice drawer organizer

Hi everyone.  I have another organizational project for you today.   And I will tell you why I chose this one.   I am very tired of rooting through the spice jars that are up in the cabinet all crammed in together.  I am tired of them all falling out when I reach for one in the back, and..... well, you get my drift.   Let's fix this.   Today I am going to show you how easy it is to turn a kitchen drawer into a well-organized spice rack of sorts.  Check it out.  👀 This drawer holds 40 spice jars, and I can see the labels too.

Equipment and supplies

Proxxon mini table saw

Proxxonr OZI/E delta sander

Ruler or tape measure

pencil

wood glue  (fast setting is best here)

1/4" plywood

wood clamps

Ok, to get started, I first needed to know the dimensions of my drawer, using tape measure or ruler measure your drawer.  Height, inside width, and length.    Remember this drawer will need to open and shut.

I needed 4 dividers for my size drawer considering the sizes of the different spices.  I figured 9-10 spices per level, so this thing is going to hold up to quit a few spice jars.

I cut my pieces to size using the Proxxon mini table saw.  I need   (4)  19' x 3" pieces for the "backrests", and (4)  19" x  2' for the risers.  This will work well for a drawer that is at least 4" deep.

Next, they need to be sanded so that there is no rough or splintery edges.   The Proxxon OZI/E delta sander makes this a breeze.

Next, I used 10-minute glue to glue up the pieces.  I simply glued one of the bigger pieces to the edge of one of the smaller pieces then clamped it while it set.  The angle was approx. 90 degrees.

I checked he fit in the drawer, Looks good    Iwas going to glue them together but really no need.

Let's see how the spices fit.

That's a wrap.   I think it will certainly help with the spices even though the larger bottles and cans still need to be stored somewhere.  Amazing how they multiply.

Thanks for visiting.  Hope you can give it a try.  It was super simple   I have some more ideas for the kitchen and elsewhere.  Someday... I just might be able to find whatever it is I am looking for.  😝

Thanks Proxxon,  love your tools.

Personalized Christmas Ornament With The Proxxon Glass Engraving Set

Hi everyone! Tammy here today with a personalized Christmas ornament that I engraved with the Proxxon Glass Engraving Kit. I love to make Christmas ornaments for the members of my family every year. I love to base them on what is currently going on in their life. This year is the first year that my daughter is a cheerleader, so I thought it would be fun to make her this ornament. Here is how I made it.

Supplies:
Proxxon Glass Engraving Kit
Glass Christmas Ornament
Cheerleader silhouette
Removable Glue Dots
Sequins
Ribbon
Plastic gem
Black fine point Sharpie pen

Directions:

Print out the silhouette that you would like to trace with the Proxxon Glass Engraver and secure it to the back of the ornament with a couple Glue Dots.

Trace the silhouette with your Proxxon Glass Engraver tool.

Add sequins to the inside of the ornament.

Add a plastic gem to the top of the ornament with a Glue Dot.

Add a piece of ribbon to the loop at the top of the ornament so you will be able to hang it on your tree.

I also used a fine point Sharpie marker to outline the engraving so it would stand out more with the sequins inside.

My daughter loves her ornament so much she already has it hanging on her bookshelf in her room :) She told me she is looking forward to hanging it on the tree this year! It is so easy to make personalized items with the Proxxon Glass Engraving Kit, I hope you give it a try today!

Let's be friends!

Boo Decor

Hello friends, Larissa here with you today. With all the holidays coming up I have decided to begin my DIY decor. Today I took three wooden blocks I previously had cut to make a Boo decor piece.

Using the Delta Sander  I sanded the edges smooth.

Using a Gel Medium I painted on a thin coat on the block.

I pre-cut 3 pieces of Halloween theme pattern paper and laid them on top of each block while the Gel Medium was still wet. I did the blocks one at a time since the Gel Medium needs to remain wet.

Once all three blocks were finished and dried and all the bubbles were out I took some black paint and paint the letters on each to spell the word BOO.

You can stack them on top of each other or side by side. I did not have the correct ribbon but I really wanted to wrap them in black tulle or ribbon and tie a bow at the top. Who knows I may end of doing it before it sits on my table for the season. :)

Hope you enjoyed my post. Have a wonderful crafty day.
