Hi everyone!  Today I'm working on a wooden keychain using some of my scrap wood . Follow along with me and I'll show you how simple it was to make using my Proxxon tools.

Supplies:

  Proxxon 2-speed Scroll Saw

  Proxxon Bench Drill Press

  Proxxon Longneck Angle Grinder

  Scrap 1/2" wood

  Wood Stain

  Spring Ring

First I drew out a pattern on my scrap wood.

Next using the Proxxon Scroll Saw I cut out may pattern.

This is my cut out pattern.

Next using the Bench Drill Press I drilled a 1/4" hole at the top of the key for a spring ring.

Next using the Longneck Angle Grinder I sanded the entire piece and tapered the sides.

Lastly I stained the piece, let dry and inserted the spring ring.

Heres my finished key ring. I attached my car keys to this one but I'm going to be making more for other keys.

Thanks for following along with me..... Colleen :-)

How to Make Decorative Flip Flops

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here today showing you how to create a set of decorative flip flops to  remind you that summer is still ongoing even if we are summering in place this year.

I drew the shapes on a sheet of plywood, then used the Scroll Saw to cut them out.  I found it easiest to cut the plywood panel first so I could work with a smaller panel.

The Scroll Saw makes easy work of cutting the flip fops.

Next, I sanded the edges with the Delta Sander.  This is my go to sander.  With it's shaped sanding surface, I can get into the smallest of areas.

The Bench Drill Press easily cut the holes in each flip flop.

I used Plaid's Folk Art Paint to paint the flip flops.  Once dry, I used a stencil with Plaid Folk Art Paint to create the design on the flip flops.

To finish, I inserted ribbons in the holes and added a flower.  Now, I just need to hang these on my wall to remember that summer comes every year.

Thanks for stopping by.

How to Make a Heart wall hanging

I know Valentine's Day has passed, but that doesn't mean your love of hearts needs to end.  Hearts can be used for weddings, anniversaries and even every day projects.

Begin by drawing a heart on a piece of wood.

Use the 2 Speed Scroll Saw to cut out the heart.  The Scroll Saw makes quick work of cutting wood projects.

Use the Delta Sander to sand the heart and the Bench Drill Press to make a hole in the center of the heart.

Next, paint the heart with black gesso.

Use assorted Crafter's Workshop stencils with molding paste to add dimension.  Allow to dry then add color with Fireworks! Shimmery Craft Sprays.  I used Desert Sandy, Lilac Posies, Pear Tart and Potter's Clay.

I then used Prima Art Alchemy waxes to add different effects to the black gesso.

Along the right side I added chipboard elements then placed tiny hearts created with Makin's Clay and a Mod Podge mold.

Along the left side, I placed colored gauze.  Flowers, labels and tiny rocks were added to the panel to complete my design.

I nestled a wood word amongst the flowers and added a clipped tag.

What do you think?

Oh Christmas Tree

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here with a Christmas Tree to share.    Who doesn't love decorating for Christmas?  Using assorted tools, you can create an amazing decorative element that is perfect for smaller spaces.

Supplies:
Proxxon Scroll Saw
Proxxon Bench Drill Press
Plaid Ultra Dye

I began by drawing the pattern on plywood, then used the Scroll Saw to cut the pattern.

I painted the tree with white paint then used the Bench Drill Press to drill holes around the tree for Christmas lights.

To create texture, I adhered gauze to the tree, then painted with Plaid Ultra Dye.

I had to redrill some of the holes that I covered with the dyed gauze.

Then I inserted lights from behind.

Thanks for stopping by.

Christmas Ornaments by Steph

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here today with a set of Christmas ornaments.

Supplies:
Proxxon Scroll Saw
Proxxon Delta Sander
Rinea Foiled Paper
Spellbinders Dies

Who doesn't love decorating for Christmas?  Using assorted tools, you can create an amazing assortment of ornaments.

Draw the pattern on the wood, then cut the ornaments using the Scroll Saw.

Punch holes in the tops using the Drill Press so you can hang the ornaments once decorated.

Sand each ornament with the Delta Sander.

Wanting different colored ornaments, I painted each with Folk Art Color Shift paints. Remember to paint both sides of the ornaments.

Once they dried, I cut Rinea Silver Starstruck Foil to fit the top of each.

Next, I decorated each ornament by die cutting several different colors of Rinea Foils.  Ribbon was tied to each ornament so they can hang wherever you want them.

Thanks for stopping by.

How to Make a Christmas Mitten with Proxxon Tools

Hi everyone.  Summer is winding down and you know what that means, right?  Christmas is on the horizon and it's never, ever, too early to start creating holiday projects.  Steph Ackerman here today to show you how to make a decorative mitten with Proxxon Tools.

Supplies:
Proxxon Scroll Saw
Proxxon Delta Sander
Proxxon Bench Drill Press
Plaint Texture Coastal Paint
Delta Ceramcoat
Plaid Stencil
Rinea Foils
Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist
Chipboard
Ribbon

Draw a pattern on a piece of plywood.
Cut around the pattern using the Scroll Saw.

Punch a hole in the top with the Drill Press.
Use the Delta Sander to sand down the mitten.

Paint the mitten with Plaid's Coastal Texture Paint in Seal Grey.
I first painted it black then realized I wanted it grey.
The Coastal Texture Paint easily covered the black paint.

Use painters tape to mask off sections of the mitten.
Add stenciled effects with molding paste.

Remove the masking tape and add strips of Rinea Foiled Papers across the mitten.

Paint chipboard elements and add them as shown.
Wrap ribbon around the mitten.
Die cut a pointsettia from Rinea Ruby/Gold Glossy Foil.

Place the pointsettia atop the ribbon.

Now I've got a new Christmas decoration to hang this year.
